BfN Schriften 398 - Standards for the monitoring of the Central European wolf population in Germany and Poland

Description: Wolves in Germany and the western half of Poland (west of the 18° 08’ meridian) belong to the Central European Lowland population (KACZENSKY et al. 2013), short Central European wolf population (CEWP). This population is one of the fastest growing wolf populations in Europe today. Several dispersers have already reached Denmark and the Czech Republic. The rapid expansion of this population presents a clear challenge for its conservation and monitoring.
