Bacterial degradation of aromatic compounds

Description: Das Projekt "Bacterial degradation of aromatic compounds" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Universite de Geneve, Departement de Biochimie Medical, Centre Medical Universitaire durchgeführt. Many soil bacteria, particularly those of genus Pdeudomonas, are able to catabolise a wide range of natural and synthetic organic materials. We are studying the catabolism of aromatic compounds by Pseudomonas bacteria and trying to improve their catabolic ability by means of genetic engineering.
