Description: Das Projekt "Analyse des Potentials und der Kosten der Speicherung von CO2 im Utsira Aquifer der Nordsee (Analysis of potentials and costs of storage of CO2 in the Utsira aquifer in the North Sea)" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Universität Stuttgart, Institut für Energiewirtschaft und Rationelle Energieanwendung durchgeführt. This projects aims to provide stakeholders with a detailed overview of the national and regional costs, benefits and bottlenecks of carbon capture and transporting and storing CO2 from countries in the North Sea region into the Utsira formation. This will be done by developing a modelling tool within the framework of the continued model development on the basis of the Pan European NEEDSTIMESmodel and/or national MARKAL/TIMES models. This project is organised into three parts. WP1 and WP2 contain the assumptions needed for the project. WP 3, WP 4 and WP5 contain the analysis of the CCS pathways at both national and regional level. In WP 6 the outcome of WP 1-5 is summarised into a final report and conclusions. In parallel WP 7 coordinate the project and assures that the milestones and deliverables are finished in due time. The results will be published and presented on different IEA ETSAP workshops. The further developed models will be used in the further projects.
