Objective: Within the project a new type of riser-umbilical will be developed combining transport-, operating- and control-function. A flexible pipe-design with incorporated cables (energy- and data-transfer) will be developed and investigated by static as well as dynamic testing of the test samples and theoretical modelling. General Information: The project is a joint programme with Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke AG and TU Hamburg-Harburg and can be subdivided in three phases: The first phase consists of the processing of the specification and possibilities of incorporating the cables into flexible pipes and the development of cable connection. In the frame of the second phase - the development phase - a new manufacturing procedure will be developed and the manufacturing equipment has to be modified. Also a first test pipe will be built and static tests will be performed. This phase will be followed by the test phase. Within this phase static as well as dynamic test will be performed with the new riser-umbilicals. Furthermore a theoretical model for computation of riser-umbilicals will be developed and the test results will be compared with the computational results.
