Guide for Renewable Energy installations to promote biomass, photovoltaics and solar thermal in the EU

Description: Das Projekt "Guide for Renewable Energy installations to promote biomass, photovoltaics and solar thermal in the EU" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR), Institut für Technische Thermodynamik, Abteilung Solarforschung (TT-SF) durchgeführt. The aim of the GREENpro project is the development and wide spread dissemination of three independent reference guides for biomass, solar thermal and photovoltaic systems. The manuals will contain the following content: - basic technical information on the individual system components; - practical knowledge; - advice for design, installation and maintenance of the renewable system; - specific national or local information on RES promotion programmes - feed in laws; - local key actors. The target groups of the guidebooks are installers, architects, developers. The guides will be published in 6 EU-languages, and will be promoted and disseminated in 6 EU countries (Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, UK, and Germany). Description of work The GREENpro project consists of 7 main phases: 1. Biomass guide development; 2. Solar thermal guide expansion; 3. National adaptations of the photovoltaic guide; 4. National adaptations of the solar thermal guide; 5. National adaptations of the biomass guide; 6. Layout, typesetting and printing; 7. Dissemination. In work package WP1 a complete new biomass guide will be created covering the following issues: Biomass basics, fuel types, supply, energy plants, different conversion technologies, heat derived from biomass, co-generation related to biomass, mixed fuel applications, small and medium district heating applications, industrial applications, dimensioning and design, implementation, legal, permitting und environmental aspects, economics, project development, subsidies, market overviews including an analysis of technical information material of state-of-the-art systems of respective manufacturers and a reference list of further information material on biomass. The existing solar thermal guide will be extended to solar thermal concentrating technologies in WP2, containing the following aspects: history of concentrating solar thermal technology, concentration of solar energy, different concentrating solar technologies, parabolic trough systems, solar tower technology, Dish/Stirling Systems, solar thermal process heat, solar thermal electricity generation and economics of concentrating solar thermal systems. In the WP 3-5 the existing PV guide, the extended solar thermal guide and the new biomass guide will be adapted to the national specific market needs. Here, an analysis of the national markets, the legal situation, the permitting and the environmental aspects will be carried out. Furthermore national support programmes will be described as well as complete market overviews of national producers, suppliers and other relevant key groups. In addition the existing parts of the German guidebooks will be translated into the national language. The WP6 is entirely dedicated to the professional publishing of the guidebooks. Here the formatting, lay outing, typesetting and printing of the guidebooks will be accomplished. Also accompanying CD-ROM versions and the design of web pages will be created here. ...
