Description: Das Projekt "Absorptionswaermepumpe fuer Einfamilienhaeuser" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von MAN Technologie GmbH durchgeführt. Objective: To demonstrate the energy saving ability of absorption heat pumps in the heating of single family dwellings to yield energy saving of more than 30 per cent in comparison with conventional heating. General Information: The heat pumps of 15 KW maximum thermal capacity operate on the reabsorbtion principle, with a double stage burner, achieving a higher PER. The working fluid is NH3/H20. Energy saving with the heat pump depends on the type of heat source and on the heating system. For this reason heat pumps are installed in conjunction with different energy sources (absorber, air heat exchanger with blower) and heating systems (under floor heating, radiator heating). The heat pumps used were developed by M.A.N. Neue Technologie. The use of a two-stage burner means that the output can be adapted to heat demand. An extension of the process makes monovalent operation of the heat pump possible even within tight constraints. Due to the less promising economics of this type of heat pump the total number will be reduced from 15 to 6.
