Description: The UNESCO-BMBF project is to further the Sino-German as well as the multilateral cooperation in the field of ecological research and environmental sciences. UNESCO's assistance and services cover four already ongoing Sino-German projects on 1) Land Use Planning, 2) Sustainable Agricultural Production, 3) Development of concepts for sustainable land use, 4) Exploitation and sustainable development of coastal saline soils. Ecological research projects to be approved in the future shall be included in the BMBF-UNESCO co-operation. Major project activities, outputs and services to be achieved are as follows: 1) a series of conferences and meetings on environment, environment policy and research, including agriculture and forestry research, 2) publication of research results, 3) public relations activities to expand the outreach of the project, 4) link scientists with decision-makers and promote the practical usw of research results etc.
