Description: Das Projekt "Advanced cleaning devices for production of green syngas (GREENSYNGAS)" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Technische Universität München, TUM School of Engineering and Design, Fakultät für Maschinenwesen, Lehrstuhl für Energiesysteme durchgeführt. GreenSyngas is a project funded by European Commission under its 7th Framework Program. The project will develop a novel gas cleaning process to reduce impurities in product gas derived from biomass gasification to levels required for upgrading for use as a feedstock in the production of vehicle fuels. The transport sector represents a growing share of fossil fuel demand in the world and needs to be reduced in order to fulfil the commitment to the Kyoto Protocol. An important approach to achieving this goal is to increase the proportion of renewable fuel as feed stocks in conversion processes in the production of vehicle fuel and specifically of second generation biofuels. This project will develop and demonstrate advanced synthesis gas cleaning technologies based on both physical separation and chemical conversion of product gas derived from biomass gasification. The purified syngas cleaned by these processes will be suitable for a number of downstream applications including conversion into synthetic biofuels for the transport sector, hydrogen, or electricity generation. Prime Contractor: University Lund; Lund; Sweden.
