Description: Das Projekt "Piping Systems - A New Approach to the Solution of Dynamic Fluid-Structure Interaction Problems with SAN-RO" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Ingenieurunternehmen für Spezielle Statik, Dynamik und Konstruktion durchgeführt. The solution capabilities of the computer program SAN-RO (Struktur-ANalyse ROhrleitungen) are evaluated which has been developped to study the coupled fluid-structure response of piping systems. SAN-RO is based on a Lagrangian finite element procedure where the tube is modelled by membrane shell elements and the fluid by continuum elements. Fluid-structure interaction is directly accounted for by coupling the radial motions of fluid and shell via appropriate constraint conditions. The tangential motions of the fluid and shell are assumed to be independent of each other (flow) This procedure also applies to pipe elbows. The solution capabilities of SAN-RO are demonstrated by sample problems.
