Description: Das Projekt "Sicherheits- und Zuverlässigkeitsanalyse von dreidimensionalen Strukturen" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Universität für Bodenkultur Wien, Institut für Konstruktiven Ingenieurbau durchgeführt. Project 'SARA 3D'. Modelling of bridges: Recently, new developments of both main components of SARA - ATENA and FREET, have been initiated. This makes possible a potential extension of the SARA system to more refined stochastic nonlinear analysis. Program ATENA has been recently extended to simulation of structures in 3D. Recent development of FREET is focused on the representation of input variables as random fields in space or time. Additional features of both programs (new materials, degradation processes, raw data, etc.) should be utilized as well and combined with the available monitoring data in order to reach more realistic prediction of structural behavior. An advanced SARA 3D system will be developed in terms of this proposal. It will be based on the existing SARA 2D system and extended in order to improve the reliability and durability assessment of concrete highway bridges. SARA 3D will integrate the most advanced methods of nonlinear mechanics (ATENA) with appropriate reliability procedures (FREET) into a complex and versatile system, which will be ready to use for practical applications, especially in bridge engeneering. It should be employed in stochastic analysis of structures, sensitivity studies, lifetime and degradation analysis, reliability assessment as well as identification of computer models with the real structures based on monitoring data. The main topics for the development of SARA 3D will be: - 3D finite element modelling - Randomization of the 3D finite element models - Customizing of ATENA for modelling of bridges - Introduction of random fields in space and time - Time-dependent modelling of material - Material degradation - Combination of FE analysis with monitoring data - Efficient interactive data exchange and program flow control. Implementation of these topics will be done by further development in following SARA components: - ATENA Solution Core - ATENA Graphical User Environment - FREET Core and Shell - SARA Studio - Supporting modules .
