Description: To protect boat hulls from fouling with algae, mussels or barnacles, biocidal antifouling products are mostly used. In the EU, these products are subject to authorisation according to the Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR). Among other things, it is checked here whether the use of the product causes acceptable risks to the environment. There are around 206 000 pleasure crafts in Germany. Around 71% of them have a berth in inland waters. In order to consider this circumstance in the environmental risk assessment and to enable a more realistic assessment for these areas, an exposure scenario for antifouling products in German inland water marinas was developed. This report presents the exposure scenario and contains all data, sources and information which are necessary for its application. Veröffentlicht in Texte | 133/2020.
