Das Landesamt für Umwelt Rheinland-Pfalz betreibt im Auftrag des Ministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie und Mobilität (MKUEM) seit 1978 das Zentrale Immissionsmessnetz - ZIMEN - für Rheinland-Pfalz. Das ZIMEN besteht aus Messstationen, die von einer Messnetzzentrale in Mainz aus telemetrisch betreut werden. Der WMS stellt die Lage der Messstationen dar.
