Das Projekt "Deutsch-Israelische Kooperation in der Umweltforschung, DISUM 43, 44, 45, 46a, 46b, 47 (Gruppe 6)" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Ministry of Science Israel, Agricultural and Environmental Division durchgeführt. The main topics of the six Israeli-German research groups are: 1. DISUM 43: - The Hydro-geochemistry of Phosphorus in a Semi-arid Wetland Ecosystem. 2. DISUM 44: - Indirect Zooplankton effects on water quality, grazing and nutrient remineralization. 3. DISUM 45: Biodiversity of Tamarix and associated entomofauna in natural and disturbed habitats in Israel. 4. DISUM 46a: - Decline of the Negev's Acacia: Integration of field research an spatially-explicit modeling for sustainable management. 5. DISUM 46b: - Predicting the long term dynamics of Acacia trees in the Arava Valley 6. DISUM 47: - Methane evolution in a warm-monomictic lake: source, sinks and its role in carbon cycling. As a result of the research remarkable contributions to the understanding of ecology an the sustainable management of biosystems in arid zones and of large lakes will be developed.
