Das Projekt "Analyse des Wirkspektrums von Bacillus A 1/3 und Pruefung transgener Pflanzen auf veraenderte Anfaelligkeit gegen Pflanzenpathogene" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Bundesanstalt für Züchtungsforschung an Kulturpflanzen durchgeführt. As a part of the connected project antagonistic substances of Bacillus subtilis A 1/3 are isolated and characterized. These are tested against a wide range of phytopathogens (fungi, bacteria, viruses). The kinetics of production and secretion of these antibiotics are studied Further, specific activities of single substances isolated from the culture supernatant of A 1/3 against the different pathogens are examined. A few carefully selected host-pathogen-systems shall then be used to investigate the mode of action of the isolated antibiotics. To test transgenic plants it is planed to work out an optimal method to show a changed resistance against pathogens.
