Das Projekt "Einsatz eines Membranabscheideverfahrends zur Depigmentieruung von Wasserlack" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Schäfer durchgeführt. The objective is to de-pigment mixed lacquers, which result from spraying water lacquers. This is to be done decentrally, on-site, with the help of membrane separation processes. It is anticipated that the technical and economic feasibility of this recycling method will be demonstrated. If widely used, this process would lead to a reduction of waste in paint shops. Most paint shops have problems with the purity of colour in recycled lacquers. Moreover, a vacuum evaporation cannot currently separate water lacquer into solid and fluid components economically. This new process consists of separating the components of the mixed lacquer by various membranes. It shows that economical de-pigmentation can be carried out in small- and medium-sized business. The primary ecological effects include conserving raw materials and avoiding waste. The advantage is the decentralized on-site processing in which the mixed lacquers need not be ultrafiltered for transportation and diluted afterwards. This results in additional water savings.
