The NFDI4Earth Knowledge Hub is a core backend service of NFDI4Earth, providing centralized, structured access to metadata on all NFDI4Earth resources. It enables you to discover, access, and integrate semantic resources relevant to Earth System Sciences (ESS), supporting FAIR and open workflows in your research and services. It facilitates exploring and querying structured metadata on datasets, services, tools, educational materials and standards relevant to ESS by providing a SPARQL endpoint, under https://sparql.knowledgehub.nfdi4earth.de/.
The PAGES (Past Global Changes) project is an international organization that supports Earth system science. Specifically, PAGES facilitates and promotes science that is based on evidence from climatic and environmental changes in the Earth's past and draws conclusions that are relevant for understanding ongoing variability and projecting future change. The 'paleoscience' forms the base of much of our knowledge on the mechanisms of climatic and environmental change, and the subsequent response of ecosystems and societies. This knowledge forms the foundation of future predictions, and hence for informed mitigation efforts and management (adaptation) strategies. PAGES seeks to facilitate interdisciplinary and international cooperation in research and to involve scientists from developing countries in the worldwide paleo-community. Our main areas of focus include integrating international paleoscience, encouraging research partnerships, strengthening the involvement of scientists from developing countries, supporting educational programs, engaging with the climate modeling community, and facilitating public access to paleo-data.
The mission of World Data Center for Climate (WDCC) is to provide central support for the German and European climate research community. The WDCC is member of the ISC's World Data System. Emphasis is on development and implementation of best practice methods for Earth System data management. Data for and from climate research are collected, stored and disseminated. The WDCC is restricted to data products. Cooperations exist with thematically corresponding data centres of, e.g., earth observation, meteorology, oceanography, paleo climate and environmental sciences. The services of WDCC are also available to external users at cost price. A special service for the direct integration of research data in scientific publications has been developed. The editorial process at WDCC ensures the quality of metadata and research data in collaboration with the data producers. A citation code and a digital identifier (DOI) are provided and registered together with citation information at the DOI registration agency DataCite.
