Das Projekt "Development and modelling of dust combustion systems for biomass fuels" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Technische Universität Graz, Institut für Prozess- und Partikeltechnik durchgeführt. This project deals with a state-of-the-art review on dust combustion technologies for biomass fuels, the development of a model describing the combustion of small wood particles as well as the application and evaluation of the model developed by comparison with measurement results derived from test runs at a lab-scale dust combustor for wood dust. As a main output of the project a modelling tool helpful for the development and optimisation of wood dust combustion systems shall be available which can be implemented or combined with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation routines at a later stage.
