Das Projekt "Wirkung von Laerm auf die kardiovaskulaere Morbiditaet" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Bundesgesundheitsamt, Institut für Wasser-, Boden- und Lufthygiene durchgeführt. Objective: To assess, among other stress factors, the influence of noise dose received by people on the frequency of occurrence of ischaemic heart diseases. General Information: An epidemiological survey is carried out in Wales (UK) by the Cardiff MRC epidemiology unit on a population of 2000 males, aged 45-59 years, to be followed for 6 years. Medical examinations and blood analysis are performed at the beginning, the mid term and the end of the survey. Many factors like diet, smoking habits, working conditions, noise exposure, are taken into account. Selected persons will carry personal noise dosimeters and noise levels will be determined in different conditions to calculate the average noise dose, received by various groups of the sample population. Occurrence frequencies of heart diseases and blood circulation troubles over the whole study will be correlated with the stress factors, including noise and with the mg levels in tissue and erythrocytes.
