This dataset summarizes allometric measurements on zooplankton and nekton species performed in the framework of the Dutch and German ICEFLUX projects. Measurements were performed on 639 individuals of 15 species from the Southern Ocean and 2374 individuals of 14 species from the Arctic Ocean, including euphausiids, fish, pelagic and ice-associated amphipods, cnidarians, salps, siphonophores, chaetognaths and a copepod. Animals were collected during three expeditions in the Southern Ocean (winter and summer) and three expeditions in the Arctic Ocean (spring and summer). In addition to measurements on length and mass, the sizes of body parts were measured, such as carapaces, eyes, heads, telsons, tails and otoliths.
GRACE/GRACE-FO Level-3 product based on COST-G RL02 Level-2B products (Dahle & Murböck, 2025) representing ice-mass changes for the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) and the Greenland Ice Sheet (GIS). The ice-mass changes are provided both as basin average product and as gridded product. Basin-average ice-mass changes are obtained using the inversion procedure based on a forward modelling approach as described in Sasgen et al. (2013) for the AIS and Sasgen et al. (2012) for the GIS. Gridded ice-mass changes are provided at polar-stereographic grids with a grid spacing of 50 x 50 km^2. The applied algorithm is based on tailored sensitivity kernels (Döhne et al., 2023; Groh & Horwath, 2021), and has also been used to generate gravimetric mass balance products within the ESA Climate Change Initiative (CCI) projects for the AIS and the GIS. These Level-3 products are visualized at GFZ's web portal GravIS (https://gravis.gfz.de). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version History: 13 March 2026: Initial release of the data (Version 0001).

The dataset contains mean masses of butterfly species and different noctuid moth size classes collected between end of May and beginning of September 2020 using different Malaise traps in three low mountain range regions in Germany: Hunsrueck (National Park Hunsrueck-Hochwald), Spessart (Rhine-Main-Observatory) and Steigerwald. The butterflies were stored in alcohol after their capture and were weighed with a precision scale (0.001 g) after shaking them briefly to remove residual alcohol. Part of the specimen collected was used for DNA-metabarcoding. The other part was deposited in the specimen collection of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (Trier University of Applied Sciences).
The dataset contains abundance data of butterfly species and noctuid moths in five different Malaise trap types which were placed as a defined set each on a meadow and a forest clearing site in three regions of Germany: Hunsrueck (National Park Hunsrueck-Hochwald), Spessart (Rhine-Main-Observatory) and Steigerwald. Abundances of noctuid moths were recorded per size class. Butterfly data covers weeks from the end of May to the beginning of September 2020. The data was collected to perform a trap comparison between the Malaise trap types which were a large Townes trap with a white roof, a large Townes trap with a black roof, a smaller Townes trap with a black roof, a dark Bartak trap with a conventional capture bottle and a dark Bartak trap with an eclector bottle. Part of the specimen collected was used for DNA-metabarcoding. The other part was deposited in the specimen collection of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (Trier University of Applied Sciences). With our study, we aimed to reveal possible differences in butterfly species capture with different types of Malaise traps and the implications for total insect biomass of the samples.
GRACE/GRACE-FO Level-3 product based on COST-G RL02 Level-2B products (Dahle & Murböck, 2025) representing Terrestrial Water Storage (TWS) anomalies provided at 1° latitude-longitude grids as defined over all continental regions except Greenland and Antarctica. The TWS anomaly grids are provided in NetCDF format containing four different variables: 1) 'tws': gravity-based TWS 2) 'std_tws': gravity-based TWS standard deviations 3) 'leakage': spatial leakage contained in 'tws' 4) 'model_atmosphere': background model atmospheric mass These Level-3 products are visualized at GFZ's web portal GravIS (https://gravis.gfz.de). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version History: 14 August 2025: Initial release of the data (Version 0001).
