Das Projekt "Water Resources Management of the Egyptian Coastal Zones in the Context of Climate Change" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Technische Universität Berlin, Institut für Bauingenieurwesen, Fachgebiet Bauwirtschaft und Baubetrieb durchgeführt. This project is to come up with management options for the River Nile estuary at Rosetta in Egypt regarding the anticipated changes due to climate change. The mathematical modeling technique is used to model the interaction between the surface water, the groundwater, and the salt water intrusion in the study area. This helps to get more insight into the system on the one hand, and on the other hand to develop a base line scenario to be compared with other scenarios in case of changes in the River Nile flow or changes in the sea level due to climate change.
