Das Projekt "Ausscheidung von Pufferraeumen fuer Schurgebiete unter stoffhaushaltlichem Aspekt" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Zentrum fuer angewandte Oekologie durchgeführt. Around protected areas in landscape-ecosystems there should be buffering belts where solid substances are deposited and dissolved substances are filtered, adsorbed and transformed or taken up by plants. The width of a buffer belt depends on the qualitiy of substances transported in from the drainage area, on the soil properties and the vegetation within the belt and on the susceptibility of the protected area. This project presents a practice-orientated, highly empirical evaluation procedure for determining the relative width of a buffering zone under the primary aspect of nutrient supply. It takes into consideration the factors land use, location and shape of the protected area, altitude, exposition of adjacent areas, the type of soil, the rootable depth, layers impeding drainage and interflow in the drainage area, slope gradient and the type of the protected area. The absolute width of the buffer belt is determined by a factor typical of the landscape. In the area in the Swiss canton of Luzern where this procedure is presently being applied, buffer belt widths of between zero and 130 m have been determined.
Das Projekt "Entwaesserung: Verfahrensweisen und Wirkungen" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPF), Institut d'Amenagement des Terres et des Eaux (IATE) durchgeführt. Les thematiques principales sont le choix de techniques de drainage de maniere a reduire le cout et les impacts du drainage sur l'environnement: qualite des eaux de drainage (non prioritaire, pas encore traite a fin aout 1992); zones-tampons hydrologiques; role du drainage dans le maintien a long terme de la fertilite des sols.
