The database contains 1064 geo-referenced distribution data of fish species of all genera within the family Aphaniidae. The data has been partially downloaded from GBIF, and has been quality checked and is now being uploaded again by providing additional data from published scientific and grey literature as well as from site scale records. Detailed metadata can be found in the Freshwater Metadatabase (http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=FWM_29) and in the Freshwater Metadata Journal (https://doi.org/10.15504/fmj.2020.48).
The data collection contains species occurrence records of freshwate diatom taxa from the Indian Ocean Islands (Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles). The species records have been collated from existing historical museum records and collections as well as from published scientific literature sources. The data set is a work in progress and more data will be added to it over time. The focus initially will be on Madagascar, followed by the smaller islands in no particular order.
OMEGA contains metadata for component regional databases of non-marine ostracod ecology and distribution. It includes full taxonomic names and geographical coordinates for each record treating these as both data and metadata.
<p>The database reflects the widely distributed data for Italian freshwater fish occurrences collected in the last 20 years. These data are actually hidden in fisheries plans and studies of the Italian provinces, regions, parks, and some other local administration databases and “grey literature”. These databases and literature resources are collected together, and the records are georeferenced and organized into one database (using Artedian http://artedi.nrm.se/fishbase_se/software/artedian/).</p> <p>For additional metadata see: http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=BF_CF22</p>

<p>The B-BLOOMS2 dataset resulted from the monitoring of 4 Belgian reference lakes during the bloom seasons in 2007 and 2008. It is composed of 278 sample events for which 17 environmental parameters are available, as well as HPLC based pigment analysis, zooplankton counting, proportion of cyanobacterial populations (from genus to species), and MC-LR concentrations determined by ELISA. Molecular data acquired during this project are also available (http://hdl.handle.net/2268/213145). </p><p>These data were acquired with the financial support of BELSPO in the frame of the Science for a Sustainable Development programme funding the project B-BLOOMS2 (SD/TE/01). The final report is available at: http://www.bblooms.be/BBLOOMS2_FinalReport.pdf</p>

Point locality database of dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata) of continental Africa. Database of the IUCN SSC Dragonfly Specialist Group. Covers continental Africa including some island like Seychelles, Socotra, Bioko, Sao Tome and Principe and Canary Island but excluding Madagascar. Data derive from literature, museum collections and own observations of the group members and other collectors.
<p>Database of the widely distributed data for freshwater fish occurrences of the countries of the Western Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia). These data are actually hidden in databases of national fisheries institutes, databases of regional fish collections and as well in grey literature (about 700 references). These databases and literature resources will be collected together, and the records will be georeferenced and organized into one database (using Artedian http://artedi.nrm.se/fishbase_se/software/artedian/).</p> <p>For additional metadata see: http://data.freshwaterbiodiversity.eu/metadb/bf_mdb_view.php?entryID=BF_CF13</p>
