Das Projekt "Development and testing of protective cabins for miners exposed to severs stress in the form of dust, noise and climate at their workplace" wird vom Umweltbundesamt gefördert und von Ruhrkohle Westfalen, Institut für Arbeitswissenschaften durchgeführt. Objective: Aims of research: Further development and examination of the design principles of underground protective cabins at workplaces where control and communication tasks are to be carried out. General Information: The research and development process comprises the following stages: Investigation of the shortcomings in previous protective equipment; future needs and the requirements of new protective cabins through expert discussions and an operational study; Selection of specific workplaces for the construction of new protective cabins; Analysis of the present situation at these workplaces; Formulation of specifications containing general and specific requirements for underground protective cabins; Development and installation of protective cabins; Description, evaluation and examination of new working methods involving protective cabins; Before/after comparison and consultation. Subject of the research: Ergonomic design of protective cabins with regard to safety at work, noise protection, improved climatic conditions, dust protection, visibility, illumination, indicators and controls, working posture, suitability for underground use and other aspects.
